Derby Festival Fun

On Friday night, we went to the Balloon Glow. Evan LOVED seeing all of the balloons. He kept pointing to each balloon and saying, "boon!" He also enjoyed seeing his cousins, Uncle Josh, Aunt Heather, Grammy, and Granddaddy. Even though he was quite tired, he managed to stay awake and enjoy the festivities. (The quality of the following pictures are not great, but I think they show what a good time we all had!)

On Saturday morning, Evan and I went downtown to cheer for Carl as he ran the mini marathon. Evan loved cheering for all of the runners. He was very proud of his Daddy and he got a HUGE smile on his face when he saw Carl running. Evan also enjoyed wearing Carl's medal.

Saturday afternoon we all went to Churchill Downs. Evan enjoyed the horses, but he kept calling them dogs!

Here is a picture of Evan picking his favorite horse!

Fun in the Backyard and at Thunder Over Louisville

Ealier in the week I discovered a cute little toad hopping around our yard. Carl picked it up to prevent the dogs from chasing it and so that Evan could take a closer look. Evan was really interested in the toad and was very excited to watch it hop.

We went to Thunder Over Louisville last night. We had a lot of fun listening to music, watching the airplanes and helicopters, seeing our friends, and of course, watching the fireworks. Evan had a great time. He fell asleep soon after the fireworks started though!

First U of L Football Game

Last night was the spring game for U of L. Carl and I took Evan to see the game and Grammy and Granddaddy went with us. Evan enjoyed the game for about 10 minutes. He clapped and cheered and pointed to the players on the field. He then wanted to walk around and play, so I took him out to the grassy part of the stadium and he spent the rest of the game playing and waving to the people walking by. It was a pretty fun night!

Evan rode to the game in style!

Evan enjoyed clapping for his favorite team!

Easter

Although Evan enjoyed the church Easter egg hunt, he was not at all interested in going on the Easter egg hunt I had for him on Easter. Oh well! He did have fun playing with the Easter eggs and dumping them out of the basket. Evan also enjoyed the toys in his Easter baskets, eating dinner, seeing the giant goldfish in the pond, and playing with his cousins.

Jackson and Aunt Heather fed the goldfish and Daddy and Evan watched.

Jackson and Celeb enjoyed throwing paper airplanes at Grammy and Granddaddy's house. (Evan was busy climbing the stairs when I took this picture. He can go up AND down now!)

First Easter Egg Hunt

Last week Evan participated in an Easter egg hunt with his friends from church. The organizers had a special area for the young children, which included small beach balls and other toys to find, as well as Easter eggs. Once Evan found a beach ball, he really happy. I think he would have been content with simply finding the beach ball, but we did convince him to gather a few more eggs and toys! Evan also saw the Easter bunny for the fist time. He was not scared, but I wouldn't say he liked the Easter bunny either!

A Wheely Fun Day

Carl, Evan, and I spent the afternoon downtown. We had a great lunch at Luigi's and then headed to Waterfront Park. We rented a bike from Wheely Fun bikes. We all had a great time riding around the park. Evan REALLY liked the ride and smiled the entire time. He also waved to everyone at the park. During our ride we stopped at one of the playgrounds to let Evan play.

Daddy gets Evan ready to ride.

Here we are on our bike ride.

Evan had fun playing at the park.

Evan's Bonnie Mom and Grandpa wanted to play with Evan tonight, so Carl and I went on a date. We enjoyed our time together and Evan enjoyed spending time with his grandparents!

This is a picture of me and Carl on our date!

Spring Break

It was spring break here in Louisville this past week. Carl, Evan, and I were able to spend a lot of time together and have a lot of fun. We went to the zoo and the park. We played outside in our backyard and we also had a couple of lunch dates downtown on the days that Carl had to work. We also spent some time with Aunt Heather, Jackson and Caleb, as well. It was a really great week!

Here are a few pictures of Aunt Heather, Jackson, Caleb, Carl, Evan and me at the zoo. Everyone had great time!

Here are some pictures of Evan playing on the playground at Waterfront Park. He loves to be outside!
