Goodbye, Preschool!

Preston had his closing program for preschool this week and he is now completely done with preschool. He has attended MUMP for four years and it has been such a great experience for him. He really loved junior kindergarten with Mrs. Crite. He learned so much and he really enjoyed going to school each day. He is excited to go to school with Evan next year, when he goes to kindergarten!

Preston looked so handsome!

Mrs. Crite and Mrs. Henderson were great teachers. We will miss them!

Bonnie Mom and Grandpa had a special party for Preston. He had so much fun!

Mother's Day

We had a very busy weekend celebrating Mother's Day. We went to dinner with Grammy on Saturday and had Bonnie Mom, Grandpa and the Amshoff family over for brunch on Mother's Day. It was nice to spend time together and I think both Bonnie Mom and Grammy felt very loved and appreciated.

Preston was very excited about Mother's Day. He made me a card and brought it in to my room bright and early in the morning. He also found one of my bracelets and gave that to me too. He is a sweetie.

Derby Festival Fun!

Derby time is always such a fun time here in Louisville. There are so many fun things to do around town and we always look forward to having friends and family join us at our annual Derby party. Overall, we had great weather for this year's Derby festival. Preston was able to go on his final field trip to Pony Tales Farm, which is always lots of fun to do around Derby time. Bonnie Mom and I completed the mini-marathon and we went to the boat race and enjoyed the rides at Fest-a-ville. Carl and I also attended Oaks with Bonnie Mom and Grandpa, which was lots of fun. Derby Day was awful weather and there was a ton of rain and storms. Thankfully, we were able to stay warm and dry at our indoor party!

Pony Tales Farm was lots of fun. Preston got to ride the gator, play games, bounce in the bounce house, play on the new playground, ride a horse and play with kittens. He had a great time and he especially enjoyed the kittens.

The Belle of Louisville was not the winner of The Great Steamboat Race, but we had a great time at the race and at Fest-a-ville.

I was SO excited that Carl wanted to dress up for Oaks this year! We had a great time with Bonnie Mom and Grandpa.

Uncle Ron found this HUGE box of chocolates for our Derby party. The kids were amazed to see so much candy!

Derby Day Fun

Happy 6th Birthday, Preston! (Thunder Over Louisville 2018)

Preston is now 6 years old! He is finishing junior kindergarten and he is SO ready to go to school with Evan. He has been VERY excited about his birthday and we have been counting down the days since early February! I love his excitement!

Preston started his birthday celebration with a party. He was excited to have most of his family attend, including The Amshoffs, Bonnie Mom, Grandpa, Grammy and Granddaddy. We had a great Super Mario themed party and Preston had a great time. The neighborhood kids even joined us for cake, which was nice. Maybe we will start having more friends come to parties!

Preston loved getting $100 from Grammy and Granddaddy!

On Saturday, it was Thunder Over Louisville day. We headed downtown for rides, fair food and swimming at the hotel. The Amshoffs joined us around dinner time and we all had fun enjoying the fireworks from the Humana building.

Sunday was Preston's actual birthday and he celebrated with a special sprinkle doughnut at the hotel breakfast buffet. We then headed home for presents, which Preston really loved. It was a great weekend!

Preston finished his birthday celebration at preschool. He is the first junior kindergarten student to turn 6 years old and he is THRILLED!

We can't wait for the coming year! There are lots of fun adventures ahead! We love you, Preston!

Easter, Spring Break and Springtime Fun

It has been almost two months since I updated the blog, because we have all been very busy having fun. I sat down for almost two hours today to upload pictures, choose pictures, and write the blog. I was almost done when there was some sort of weird glitch and ALL of my work disappeared. That has never happened before and it was really frustrating. I am having to start over from scratch and I am so sad. I don't want to miss anything really important, but I also don't have time to redo everything. I am going to keep the writing to a minimum and post pictures so that we can remember all of our fun, but it isn't going to look like it normally does. I am okay with that though. Life isn't perfect and neither is the blog. =)

Easter was lots of fun. Preston had his preschool program and it was really cute. We also went to church, had dinner together, dyed Easter eggs, and had an Easter egg hunt on Easter morning.

Our first spring break adventure was a quick trip to the science center. We go a lot, but the boys always have fun. Preston loved playing in the store and Evan enjoyed building a huge tower.

We went on an overnight trip to Great Wolf Lodge. We had heard that it was great and it was amazing! The water park was awesome and there were lots of different things to do. The boys really liked the wave pool and the water slides. They also had a great time playing the Magic Quest game. Our room was awesome and the boys liked their bunk bed room. We are definitely going back!

Preston got a special treat on spring break. He got to go to work with Daddy! He always wants to go to Daddy's work and spring break was a great time for him to join Daddy at work for a little while. He got to eat breakfast with Daddy, ride the elevator, work in Daddy's office, and meet some of Daddy's friends.

Our biggest spring break adventure was going to Red River Gorge with the Congletons! It was a really fun day of hiking, rock climbing and exploring. The boys had a great time and so did the grown ups. I am thankful for such wonderful friends!

Our springtime fun included cheering on both the men's and women's basketball teams. The men's team made it pretty far in the NIT, while the ladies made it the the Final Four game of the NCAA tournament.

We had lots of other fun this spring, including playing in the snow! The winter weather seemed to last FOREVER!

Evan's school hosted Muffins with Mom and I was able to take both boys. It was a fun breakfast and I enjoyed time with both of my sweet boys.

As the weather improved, I enjoyed walking outside, as I trained to walk in the mini marathon. I loved seeing the animals and the beautiful wild flowers.

The Sky Star Ferris Wheel was in town for a few weeks and we decided to take a ride. It was really fun and I really liked seeing Louisville from such a unique vantage point.
