Happy Valentine's Day!

We had quite a time celebrating Valentine's Day this year. In fact, our celebration lasted three days!

We started on Friday with school Valentine's Day parties for the boys. I went to Preston's party, since I had signed up to be one of the party parents. Since Evan's class needed help at the same time as Preston's party, Grammy and Granddaddy went to Evan's party! They had so much fun with leading the craft center, that they even stayed for lunch!

After we picked up Evan from school, we surprised the boys by taking them bowling! They boys had so much fun and Preston cracked us up by calling the game, "the bowling ball game" and "bowl game." Afterwards, the boys had fun with our babysitter, Emma, while Carl and I headed out for dinner at Hanabi.

On Saturday, we had a fun family day, which included movies, presents, and lots of playing.

We rounded out of celebration with more fun on Sunday, including time in the hot time with the whole family and dinner with Grammy and Granddaddy. Of course, the boys were not too interested in dinner, they were just happy to have Grammy and Granddaddy come to PLAY!

Once again, Preston did not like the singing portion of the party, but he sure did like the eating portion!

Preston was super happy after the party!

I don't have a picture of Evan at his school party, because Grammy forgot her camera. She mentioned that Evan's teacher took pictures though, so maybe I can get one from her!

It was Evan's second time bowling and he was a pro!

Preston liked cheering for people about as much as he liked bowling!

Date Night!

Since Bonnie Mom and Grandpa are in Key West, they sent cookies! The boys loved them!

We watched Big Hero 6, which was a great movie. We have watched it MANY more times since our first viewing on Valentine's Day.

Hot Tub Fun!

I happened to take a picture of Preston while he was waiting for Grammy and Granddaddy. In the summer he and Evan wait on the porch, but in the winter, they wait by the window! So cute!

The Congletons Visit!

We were fortunate that we were able to get to hang out with our friends John and Terri and their kids for two weekends in a row! That is quite a feat, since it is often months in between our visits.

During the last weekend in January, we enjoyed a kid free day and night with John and Terri and it was FABULOUS! Terri and I had lunch and got massages, while John and Carl went to Buffalo Trace Distillery for some bourbon tasting. We met up at The Galt House, where we hung out and watched the U of L game. After the game, we went to dinner at Against the Grain and then had a drink at one of the bars at The Galt House. If that was not enough, we also enjoyed brunch at Wild Eggs. It was a very nice weekend and we enjoyed the time we got to spend with our sweet friends.

Since the Congletons were unable to make Evan's birthday party, they visited again the following weekend and they brought the whole family! They got to spend the night, which was lots of fun for all of the little boys. We also got to go to the park, Henry's Ark, get in the hot tub, and have a small birthday celebration. Although they were here less than 24 hours, we sure managed to have a lot of fun!

Happy 7th Birthday, Evan!

Evan turned 7 years old last weekend and we had lots of fun celebrating his birthday with our family and friends! We started with a party on Saturday, which was lots of fun, especially given that Evan chose a Minecraft theme for his party! We made of lots of the decorations and Aunt Heather made an awesome cake. We really enjoyed spending time with our family and celebrating our sweet boy!

Sunday was Evan's birthday and he woke us up extra early so we could open his gifts. Clearly, he was VERY excited! He received many Minecraft gifts, which made his day! We also went to a movie with Bonnie Mom and Caroline to celebrate.

We finished our celebrations on Monday, with a small party at school. I loved that I got to celebrate with Evan and his friends and everyone had a really great time!

Evan really hope for snow on his birthday and he was SO happy to wake up to find that it snowed!

Minecraft Party!

We were so fortunate that so many of our family members were able to join us! We were sad that Grandpa was in Key West, but so happy that everyone else could make it to the party!

I did take a picture of Grammy and Granddaddy too, but it did not turn out well. We know they were there though!

Happy birthday, Evan!

A party in Ms. Morrow's class sure is a lot of fun!
