Happy 7th Birthday, Preston!

Wow! I can't believe that Preston is now seven years old. I feel like it wasn't so long ago that he was our little baby. He is very excited to be seven. In fact, he has been counting down the days until his birthday since January! Preston says that being seven makes him a really big boy.

Preston is super sweet and still loves cuddles, hugs, and family days. He is doing well in school and loves math. He has liked learning to read and likes to read books to us. He loves to play with Evan and his friends in the neighborhood. Preston also likes video games and his favorite video game partner is Daddy. He is quite outgoing, which is kind of a surprise, because he was so shy for quite some time. Preston is also very brave.

Preston is an amazing little guy and I think he is one of the sweetest little boys I have ever met. We are so excited to see what wonderful things are in store for him this coming year. I am sure it is going to be great!

We had Preston's birthday party on Easter. He was SO excited all day long and was doing a count down until his party. We were fortunate that lots of people came over to celebrate. Grammy, Granddaddy, Grandpa, Bonnie Mom, Uncle Ron, Aunt Rachel, Uncle Teddy, Caroline, Alex and Andy attended the party. Additionally, neighborhood kids were in and out all day as well.

Party Day

Preston had a lot of fun the following day, on his actual birthday, as well. He celebrated with cookie cake with his friends at school, opened presents and went to Shogun for dinner! He LOVED all of the attention at Shogun and had fun dancing to the special birthday song and having an ice cream sundae. It was a super special day.

7th Birthday

Easter 2019

We had a great and super busy Easter. The weekend was really fun, but along with Easter festivities, we also had a soccer game, a dinner with Grammy and Granddaddy, and Preston's birthday party! It was tiring, but everyone had a great time and so it was definitely worth the hard work to pull it all off!

We went to church on Saturday, since it was the family service where the kids could participate. The kids enjoyed it, but I think the real hit was the Easter egg hunt that followed! Both boys had a great time and got lots of candy. We returned home to dye Easter eggs with Grammy and Granddaddy. We then went to dinner and Evan's soccer game.

On Sunday morning, the boys enjoyed getting their Easter baskets and having candy for breakfast. Then they had an Easter egg hunt here at the house. We made some of the eggs very hard to find, which made the egg hunt extra fun.

We ended the day with Preston's party, which was a big success. We had lots of family and friends join us and the kids had a great time playing outside.

Preston had a special spring egg hunt at school. I loved helping out that day and getting to spend time with Preston and his friends.

The boys and Grammy had fun decorating our Ester eggs. They were very pretty and made great deviled eggs the next day!

Easter morning was so fun! 

Spring Break 2019

We had a really fun spring break this year. We started the week here in Louisville. I was able to take the boys to some of their favorite places, including Malibu Jacks and The Louisville Zoo.

We had a great time at Malibu Jack's. We rode the go carts, played games and played mini golf. It was Preston's first time playing mini golf and he did really well!

Our trip to the zoo was nice. We had good weather and we saw lots of animals. Evan enjoyed taking lots of pictures.

As usual, Preston's favorite part of the zoo was getting to pet the goats.

During the second part of the week, we went to Hocking Hills. It is about 4 hours away and it was definitely worth the drive.

We met up with the Congleton family. Although we saw some amazing things and had some great hikes, seeing them was probably the best part of the trip. We had so much fun together.

We rented a cabin, which had plenty of space for the boys to play outside. The property included a tree house, trails, frog pond, hot tub and a wrap around porch. There were plenty of toys inside too as well as a couple full size arcade cabinets, which kept the boys entertained in the mornings.

We took five different hikes. We went to Conkle's Hollow, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Old Man's Cave and Rock House.

Conkle's Hollow was the first hike. Everyone was excited to explore after a long car ride.

Conkle's Hollow was very pretty. We loved the big rock formations and the waterfall.

The boys liked hot chocolate on the porch, while they watched for deer in the woods.

Our second hike was to Ash Cave. We had fun taking lots of pictures, which are some of my favorite pictures of the trip.

The hike to Cedar Cave was nice too. The waterfall was big and the kids had a great time playing together. Unfortunately, Luke fell in the super cold water here. He was a trooper though and barely complained!

We went to Old Man's Cave, which was nice, but pretty crowded. The waterfall was my favorite part, but the boys liked playing on the rocks.

Our final hike was a bit tough, as everyone was tired. We did see some really cool rock formations though! Everyone liked exploring Rock House.

On our last night at the cabin, the boys enjoyed some time in the hot tub, as well as making s'mores around the fire. It was a great way to end the trip!
