Once again, we had an amazing swim and dive season with the Hunting Creek Lightning. We were undefeated in the regular season, for the second year in a row. We placed 3rd at City Meet and also received a special second place award for swim points!
Preston surprised us all by choosing to dive again this year. He worked incredibly hard at each practice and also did a bunch of private dive lessons with coach Reese. He improved all season, although he never placed in a regular season meet. He was never deterred, even when he was asked to dive up at City Meet. He dove so well, that had he been in his correct age group, he would have gotten a medal! We were so proud of his grit and determination! Coach Reese was also impressed, because he awarded him the Most Improved award for diving!
He also worked really hard in swimming. He often received praise for being focused and trying his best during practice. He was also eager to take lessons with coach Tyler. He wasn't phased at all when asked to to the IM at City Meet. He wasn't the fastest, but he worked hard and did win a medal!
Evan wasn't a big fan of practicing, so he didn't go very often. He did rally for the meets though and earned lots of ribbons in both swim and dive. He was also the City Meet champion for Boys Open diving. We knew he could do it, but this was especially impressive as one of the youngest boys that dove in his group. He also impressed us by volunteering to help coach at City Meet. He did so well and was given many compliments.
