Ballon Glow

On Friday night we took Evan to The Balloon Glow. Grammy and Granddaddy went with us and we all had a good time, despite the delayed start to the event. Evan loved seeing all of the balloons. His favorite balloon was the one that looked like a soccer ball.

This was the first balloon to get blown up and and glow.



This was Evan's reaction to seeing the balloon!



Evan got a special wand that also glowed. We were glad we got it because it kept him throughly entertained during the long wait to enter the field where the balloons were.



Evan wanted to make sure that Granddaddy saw the balloons glowing. Evan loves Granddaddy SO much! He wanted to make sure Granddaddy didn't miss seeing the balloons!

The balloon glow was a lot of fun once we were permitted to enter the field and get a good view of all the balloons.

Thunder Over Louisville

Thunder Over Louisville was SO much fun this year! Evan loved seeing the air show and got very excited each time he saw one of the planes or helicopters. He also enjoyed playing in the bouncer and going down the giant slide. Evan was so excited to see the fireworks and he managed to stay awake through the whole show, even though it was way past his bedtime.

Evan though it has been a week since the air show and fireworks show, Evan STILL tells people that he went to Thunder Over Louisville and saw BIG planes and BIG fireworks!

Evan was thrilled to see all of the planes! He had his head held back to see the planes during most of the walk downtown.



As Evan would say, "BIG plane!"

Granddaddy and Grammy joined us right before the air show ended and the fireworks started. Evan was THRILLED to see Granddaddy! (I think Granddaddy felt the same way about seeing Evan!)



Carl and I had lots of fun too!



The air show was winding down, but there were still lots of cool airplanes.



Evan exclaimed, "Look! BIG airplane Granddaddy!"



The fireworks were great. We were so happy to get to view them from the comfort of Carl's office building.

Spring Break

Although we stayed in town, we had a wonderful time on spring break this year. Carl took some time off from work and we enjoyed spending lots of family time together, as well as spending some time with some good friends. We went to the zoo, the science museum, Chuck E. Cheese, visited Grandpa at work, had pictures made (see previous post), and went to several different parks.

Evan and Levi enjoyed seeing the zoo together.

We also started our backyard makeover. We started out just needing to remove one tree so that we could put up the play house we bought for Evan. That quickly snowballed into removing several trees, removing several tree stumps, removing several flower beds, removing part of our driveway, etc. It was a lot of work, but the backyard looks great and Evan had a great time helping Daddy with all of the projects. Now we just need to keep the new sod watered and assemble the play house!
