Spring Break

Although we stayed in town, we had a wonderful time on spring break this year. Carl took some time off from work and we enjoyed spending lots of family time together, as well as spending some time with some good friends. We went to the zoo, the science museum, Chuck E. Cheese, visited Grandpa at work, had pictures made (see previous post), and went to several different parks.

Evan and Levi enjoyed seeing the zoo together.

Evan and Levi thought the tiger was super cool!

We all had a great time at the science museum.

My "cool dudes!"

Evan enjoyed a ride on the swing.

Evan had fun throwing rocks into the river.

Evan and Daddy had fun talking by the river.

Evan mastered the balance beam by the end of the day!

Hanging around!

Our little monkey can climb ANYTHING!

We also started our backyard makeover. We started out just needing to remove one tree so that we could put up the play house we bought for Evan. That quickly snowballed into removing several trees, removing several tree stumps, removing several flower beds, removing part of our driveway, etc. It was a lot of work, but the backyard looks great and Evan had a great time helping Daddy with all of the projects. Now we just need to keep the new sod watered and assemble the play house!

Evan LOVES to help!

Evan discovered a love of insects while we renovated the backyard. Here he is looking at an ant colony and some worms.

Daddy's helper!

Evan enjoyed seeing the dumpster being delivered. He clapped and cheered!

Evan and Kaiya inspect our dumpster.

Placing the first load of stones/cement in the dumpster.

Evan and Dad go back for more stones/cement.

Filling the wheelbarrow with more stones/cement.

Placing MORE stones/cement into the dumpster.

Pushing the stones/cement down into the dumpster.

Evan helped Daddy roll out the new sod.

Evan searched for worms.

Evan found some worms!

Evan and Daddy placed one of the last loads of stones/cement into the dumpster. The last loads included part of the driveway that Daddy removed with a jackhammer!

Easter 2010

Evan had a great time celebrating Easter this year. We began our celebration by making a bunny hut at Grandpa and Bonnie Mom's house. The bunny hut was similar to a gingerbread house. The hut was made out of a cookie and we decorated the hut with icing and various candies. We all had a great time helping Evan decorate the bunny hut. Evan enjoyed decorating the bunny hut and eating the icing and candy.

Evan was SO excited to start decorating the bunny hut!

Yummy! This candy is SO good!

Making a bunny hut is fun!

This icing is delicious!

Our bunny hut is finally complete!

Evan dyed Easter eggs for the first time this year. His good buddy Levi came over to help! Evan and Levi enjoyed seeing the eggs come out of the food coloring. Evan had fun mixing the colors to create new colors and placing the eggs in several different colors to create very interesting eggs. He is very artistic, like Daddy.

Evan shows off his first Easter egg!

Levi liked his green Easter egg!

Making Easter eggs is fun!

Our Easter eggs were beautiful!

Easter Sunday was a lot of fun. We went to church, had an Easter egg hunt, enjoyed getting several Easter baskets, and visited family. Evan LOVED the Easter egg hunt. He was so excited to run around and find all of the eggs. He also enjoyed getting all of the treats in his Easter baskets.

Evan got his first Easter basket at our house.

Evan enjoyed his gifts. He also enjoyed playing with the plastic grass!

This chocolate bunny is delicious!

Finding Easter egss is so much fun!

Evan liked his Easter basket at Bonnie Mom and Grandpa's house. It was filled with Thomas treats!

Evan's Easter basket at Grammy and Granddaddy's house has lots of candy and toys in it. Evan really liked the chocolate lollipop!

Mess Making

The other night I came downstairs and heard loud laughter coming from the kitchen. I came around the corner to find Evan having a great time taking the eggs out of the refrigerator and smashing them on the floor! He had no idea that what he had done was wrong. When he saw me, he happily exclaimed, "Look Mommy! Eggs!" He had the biggest smile on his face! Of course, I explained that eggs are food and not toys, but before I cleaned up the mess, I did take a picture.
