Easter, Spring Break and Springtime Fun

It has been almost two months since I updated the blog, because we have all been very busy having fun. I sat down for almost two hours today to upload pictures, choose pictures, and write the blog. I was almost done when there was some sort of weird glitch and ALL of my work disappeared. That has never happened before and it was really frustrating. I am having to start over from scratch and I am so sad. I don't want to miss anything really important, but I also don't have time to redo everything. I am going to keep the writing to a minimum and post pictures so that we can remember all of our fun, but it isn't going to look like it normally does. I am okay with that though. Life isn't perfect and neither is the blog. =)

Easter was lots of fun. Preston had his preschool program and it was really cute. We also went to church, had dinner together, dyed Easter eggs, and had an Easter egg hunt on Easter morning.

Our first spring break adventure was a quick trip to the science center. We go a lot, but the boys always have fun. Preston loved playing in the store and Evan enjoyed building a huge tower.

We went on an overnight trip to Great Wolf Lodge. We had heard that it was great and it was amazing! The water park was awesome and there were lots of different things to do. The boys really liked the wave pool and the water slides. They also had a great time playing the Magic Quest game. Our room was awesome and the boys liked their bunk bed room. We are definitely going back!

Preston got a special treat on spring break. He got to go to work with Daddy! He always wants to go to Daddy's work and spring break was a great time for him to join Daddy at work for a little while. He got to eat breakfast with Daddy, ride the elevator, work in Daddy's office, and meet some of Daddy's friends.

Our biggest spring break adventure was going to Red River Gorge with the Congletons! It was a really fun day of hiking, rock climbing and exploring. The boys had a great time and so did the grown ups. I am thankful for such wonderful friends!

Our springtime fun included cheering on both the men's and women's basketball teams. The men's team made it pretty far in the NIT, while the ladies made it the the Final Four game of the NCAA tournament.

We had lots of other fun this spring, including playing in the snow! The winter weather seemed to last FOREVER!

Evan's school hosted Muffins with Mom and I was able to take both boys. It was a fun breakfast and I enjoyed time with both of my sweet boys.

As the weather improved, I enjoyed walking outside, as I trained to walk in the mini marathon. I loved seeing the animals and the beautiful wild flowers.

The Sky Star Ferris Wheel was in town for a few weeks and we decided to take a ride. It was really fun and I really liked seeing Louisville from such a unique vantage point.

Parents' Day, My 39th Birthday, and Spring Fun

We have been super busy the last couple of weeks! We started with Preston's Parents' Day celebration at preschool. He was REALLY excited because both Carl and I were able to attend. We loved the interviews he did about us, which were really funny. We also liked to see Preston singing and dancing. He is quite the entertainer!

We had a great time celebrating my 39th birthday! We were able to do a celebration with Grammy and Granddaddy and Carl and I also got to go out for date night.

We are starting to have some warm days here and there and we have enjoyed getting outside. We walked the new bridge one day and we also went to the zoo. We are all excited about spring and we can't wait for the warm weather!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Wow! Valentine's Day was a whirlwind of excitement around here! We made large cards for all of the grandparents that featured each boy's hand prints. Both boys got cards for all of their friends and they had fun attaching candy to the cards. Well, they attached MOST of the candy to the cards. They had fun eating some candy too! Evan made a special "parkour" box for his cards and Preston made a special "love" box at school.

Preston's party was kids only, but he had lots of fun and enjoyed all of his treats. We both enjoyed getting to go to Evan's party and sharing the special day with Evan and his friends. Preston has made friends with lots of the kids in Evan's class, so he was offered lots of special seats and extra treats.

We had our usual heart shaped pizza for dinner and the boys enjoyed heart shaped cakes for dessert. The evening ended with gifts and snuggles.

They boys made such cute hand print flowers for their grandparents.

Carl and the boys made special flowers and cards. It was such a nice surprise!

Party time!

I love these guys!

Yummy!

Carl and I were able to have a night out to celebrate too. We had a great dinner at Mojitos.
