Orlando Vacation

Grammy and Granddaddy enjoy taking all of the grandchildren on a trip to Orlando every couple of years. We usually go in the summer, but we went in November this year so that we could avoid the heat and the crowds. Unfortunately, we were only somewhat successful with our goal. The weather was wonderful, but it was still quite crowded and we had to wait in some long lines. This meant we still had quite a bit of whining. It was also very hard for Grammy to get around. Thankfully, we still had lots of fun! Overall, it was a good trip and the kids LOVED seeing their cousins.

We spent two days at Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom. It was really cool to see it decorated for Christmas and the castle was spectacular at night. We rode all of our favorite rides and got to see the awesome fireworks show and parades. Preston even got to ride Space Mountain for the very first time!

We also spent two days at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The boys LOVED all of the Harry Potter rides and activities. They were especially excited to visit Ollivander's Wand Shop to get their own wands! Preston was equally excited to go to Jurassic World! He LOVED the rides, meeting Blue and playing on the massive Playground.

We spent our first day at Magic Kingdom.

We got a late start to our second day of the trip, because Aunt Heather and Jackson didn't feel well. Evan, Preston and Emily made the best of it and had fun catching lizards and frogs!

Uncle Josh and Jackson stayed behind, but the rest of us were able to spend the afternoon at Islands of Adventure.

Everyone needs a bubble bath after a long day of having fun!

Everyone was feeling better on the third day and we all went to Magic Kingdom.

Our last day was spent at both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. We were all pretty tired at this point. We spent a lot of time at Jurassic Park. The playground there was lots of fun and Preston got to meet Blue!

Everyone was tired by the end of the trip, but I think Preston was the most tired. He fell asleep while watching t.v. on our last night in Orlando.

School Pictures

Evan and Preston are both at the same school this year and they could wear their "handsome" clothes, since the school no longer requires uniforms. Their school pictures turned out great and I love them!

Family Pictures - Fall 2018

We had our annual family pictures taken last week. We had a beautiful night, the kids were in good moods, and the pictures turned out great! There are many amazing pictures, but here are a few of my favorites.

Halloween Fun

We had lots of fun in the days leading up to Halloween. We went to the The World's Largest Halloween Party at the zoo, as well as Trick-Or-Treat at the Track at Churchill Downs. Both events were lots of fun and were extra special because the Amshoffs joined us for both events!

We had a great time carving our pumpkins. Evan did a lot of his on his own this year, which was pretty impressive. Preston needed some help, but he was happy to hang around and help. Evan made a sideways pumpkin and Preston made a Bendy pumpkin. They both turned out great!

The World's Largest Halloween Party at the zoo was lots of fun. The kids liked getting the candy and seeing all of the decorations. Evan and Preston also liked the big hay maze. The kids enjoyed seeing all of the characters, but none of the kids wanted to take pictures with the characters this year, which was unusual.

We went to Trick or Treat at the Track with the Amshoffs. I am not sure if it is a new event or if we have just never noticed it before. It was lots of fun though and if they have it again, we would love to go back. There was a petting zoo, pony rides, lots of games and inflatables. There was even trick-or-treating! We also got to see a few races.

We didn't take a lot of pictures, but these was cute. The boys really liked the pony rides and the petting zoo. They really love animals.

The weather forecasters were calling for storms and flash flooding on Halloween, so our neighborhood decided to trick-or-treat the night before. The weather was amazing and the kids had a great time. Grammy and Granddaddy joined us that night too. Grammy passed out candy and Granddaddy joined the kids in their adventures around the neighborhood.

The kids had storybook character dress up day at school. They looked great as Harry Potter and Ron Weasley!

On Halloween night, we did spooky mystery boxes and had a candy hunt in the dark. It was a fun way to spend a stormy Halloween night.

These pictures are not necessarily Halloween related, but they crack me up. Evan is always the entertainer!
