Race for the Cure 2010 and Alpha Gam Family Fun Weekend

This weekend was LOTS of fun for our family. We started off our weekend by welcoming the Collins family to town on Friday night. Then we participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday morning. After the race, many of my sorority sisters and their families come to our house for our Alpha Gam Family Fun Weekend. It was so good to see all of my friends and their families. We all had a wonderful time watching the kids play together and catching up. It was a fantastic weekend. I just wish it could have lasted longer!

Evan waited to see Mommy in the Survivor Parade!

"There she is!"

Evan wanted to walk with Mommy!

I wanted to get a family picture, but Evan was feeling shy.

Emily wore LOTS of pink in honor of breast cancer survivors!

Emily was "Riding for a Cure!"

My sister is the greatest! I love her SO much!

I was thrilled to have Stacey be able to walk with us this year! She is such a dear friend!

Kathy and Janice are friends from Chancey that walked with us this year.

Evan enjoyed hanging out with Granddaddy. They are best buds!

The whole Koontz family came out to race this year! Thanks guys!

Starting the race!

Enjoying the ride!

Grammy was a trooper! She walked with us this year!

We had a great view as we raced!

Granddaddy, Carl, and Evan enjoyed the race!

The race was lots of fun! It was so nice to have so many family and friends join us!

Crossing the finish line!

I was THRILLED to have Stacrey, Shannon and Jennifer participate in the race this year. I love my Alpha Gam sisters!

The bounce house/slide was delivered while Evan was asleep and before any guests arrived. Carl just HAD to test it out!

Evan and Daddy enjoyed bouncing around while we waited for our friends to arrive.

The bounce house/slide was a HUGE hit with the kids AND the parents!

Levi, Evan, and Parker enjoyed some juice. Evan had a blast with these two guys!

The play house was lots of fun for all of the kids.

The Alpha Gam Girls (I LOVE my sisters!)

This is not the best picture in the world, but it does include ALL of the kids excpet baby Hunter, who is only a few days old. We were quite impressed that we got everyone to sit still for a picture!

Most of the kids enjoyed wearing their costumes and posing for a picture. Several kids, including Evan, were exhausted at this point and refused to wear their costumes for more than 2 minutes.

Evan borrowed Calvin's mask. He LOVEd waering it. He was trying to make the same face as the mask as he wore it! TOO FUNNY!

Pumpkin Picking at Huber's Farm

Last weekend Carl and I took Evan to Huber's farm to pick pumpkins. Evan enjoyed getting to ride the tractor out to the pumpkin patch and then picking his own pumpkin. He also enjoyed the barn slide and the giant blow up slide. He also had fun riding out to feed the animals. We ended our trip with a visit to the gift shop, so that Evan could pick out his own small tractor.

Evan spotted this tractor as soon as we got out of the car. He ran over to it and shouted, "Wow! This is a big tractor!"

Evan LOVED riding the tractor out to the pumpkin patch.

This is the only picture that I was able to take with all three of us. (Evan is not a fan of posing for pictures these days.)

Daddy and Evan searched for pumpkins.

"Is this pumpkin for me?"

"Yes it is! I love it!"

Evan loves tractors and enjoyed riding the toy tractor in the play area.

The barn slide was tons of fun!

We rode the tractor out to feed the animals.

There were lots of animals to feed and pet. Evan liked feeding Mooey the cow and petting baby goat.

"The farm was fun!"

Fun at Waterfront Park

We took Evan to Waterfront Park for a picnic a couple of weeks ago. Evan LOVES Waterfront Park because he can see the boats and planes. He also likes paying on the new Abraham Lincoln statue and the playgrounds. Here are a few pictures from our evening at the park.

Evan LOVES to climb on this statue.

There was a beautiful sunset while we were at the park.

Evan had fun looking at all of the "big boats."

Helping is Fun!

Evan has enjoyed helping us with different tasks since he was very small. He continues to enjoy helping us and now that he is bigger, he is able to help more and more. Evan LOVES helping Daddy fix things with tools, but he has recently found that helping Daddy cook and bake is fun too!

Evan enjoyed helping Daddy fix our broken bench.

Making chili was a lot of fun!

Evan REALLY liked making brownies. He also REALLY liked eating the brownies!
