Last weekend we went to visit our family in Tennessee. As always, we had a really great time. Evan was a really good traveler on the way to Tennessee and spent most of the ride watching Star Wars. On Saturday morning, we went to yard sales, which has become one of Evan's favorite things to do when we visit. Later, Evan played with Marlee. (The two boys had SO much fun together!) Evan loved seeing Grandma this trip and gave her lots of hugs and told her, "I love you!" a lot. It was a really nice visit!
Evan liked going to yard sales. He got an X Wing!
The light sabers were lots of fun for Evan and Marlee!
Evan and Marlee enjoyed riding the roller coaster. (They did great taking turns!)
Evan and Marlee enjoyed eating lunch outside.
I got one good picture of both boys where you can see their faces!
Evan had fun "reading" to Marlee.
Evan loves Grandma so much! Of course, Grandma loves Evan very much too!
The trip back from Tennessee was not as nice as our trip to Tennessee. While traveling 70 m.p.h on I-75, we hydroplaned. Our car spun out of control and slammed into a cement barricade. It was REALLY scary! When we finally stopped, we found ourselves facing backward in the emergency lane. The car was badly damaged, but amazingly, we are all fine. We are SO fortunate that we only had bumps and bruises. It could have been a lot worse! Mom and Dad came to get us in Berea, KY, which is where the accident occurred. We were grateful for their help!
This is our car after the accident. (This picture doesn't show the damage well. We know the rotor broke, as well as many things on the inside of the car. The damage was very extensive and the insurance totaled the car.)
We couldn't ride in the tow truck to the towing company, because it couldn't hold Evan's car seat. The police officer that was helping us after the accident let us ride to the towing place in his police car! Evan thought that was super cool!

Three Year Old Preschool
Last week Evan started his second year of preschool. He is attending Middletown United Methodist Preschool and he is in Mrs. Arbough's class. He gets to go to preschool three days a week this year. He is extra excited to go to preschool this year because his cousin Caleb is also attending preschool and they get to play together on the playground. Evan loves preschool so far. We are excited for him and we know he will learn many new things this year!
"I am SO happy to go to preschool!"
I was excited for Evan! I knew he was going to LOVE preschool!
Caleb and Evan posed for a couple of pictures on the first day of preschool!

Evan's Wiggly Tooth
Evan has had a wiggly tooth since he was about 1 1/2, when he fell and loosened it. He has hit the same tooth MANY more times over the past two years and it finally came out last week. He was VERY excited! The Tooth Fairy was kind to Evan and brought him some new Star Wars toys, but I hope she won't have to visit again until Evan is 5 or 6!
Evan LOVES to show off his missing tooth!

Justa Crab
We added a hermit crab to our family! Evan really likes him and we play with him every day. He named the crab Justa Crab, which cracks us up! He is so silly!
Evan LOVES Justa Crab!
Justa Crab is actually a pretty fun pet. He lets us play with him and he doesn't pinch!

Carl's Birthday and Granddaddy's Birthday
We celebrated Carl's birthday with his family on his actual birthday. Evan and I had fun decorating the house for him when he got home from work. (Evan just KNEW Daddy wanted cake, balloons and dinosaur decorations!) We went to eat with his family at Burning Bush Grille and then came back to our house for cake and ice cream.
This picture has nothing to do with Carl's birthday, other than the fact that it was taken on his birthday. I think it so cute though! Evan asked that I take his picture with his buddy. =)
Family Picture (Happy Birthday Carl!)
On Sunday, we celebrated Carl's birthday and Granddaddy's birthday at Los Aztecas. Then we came back to our house for cake and to let the kids play. It was a really fun night and we all had a good time.
Heather made a DELICIOUS cake for Carl and Granddaddy. It was really cute too!
Jackson was so cute! He asked me to take his picture eating the yummy cake! (This really surprised me, since he usually doesn't eat much cake and he does not usually like me to take his picture.)
ALL of the kids had fun riding in the race car!

Key West Vacation - Week 2 (and a 1/2)
Thursday
We went to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park so that we could see a cruise ship come in to Key West. Evan was very excited to see "the big boat." Afterwards, we explored the fort. Evan enjoyed seeing the cannons and cannon balls, as well as climbing to the top of the fort. (My camera battery died when we entered the fort, so I don't have any pictures of it, but we did have lots of fun!)
The beach at Fort Zachary Taylor is beautiful! We are definitely in paradise!
The cruise ship was pretty impressive. Evan said it was the biggest boat he had ever seen and he was right. It was HUGE!
Evan saw his very first iguana at the park. He was SO happy!
Carl and I went on a date to Salute. It is a great Italian restaurant on the beach. We had a nice dinner and went on a walk on the beach and the pier.
Carl and I were excited to go out on another date. (Bonnie Mom and Grandpa have been so generous to watch Evan for us! Of course, Evan gets to have lots of fun doing things like going to get ice cream!)
The moon was beautiful! (The locals were even going out to take a look!) I just wish the camera could have captured how pretty the moon really was!
Friday
Evan has been obsessed with The Key West Conch Train ever since he saw it on our first day here, so we decided to a ride. Although the train ride was more of a tour of Key West, than a real ride, Evan had SO much fun! It was definitely a good choice!
Evan and Daddy had fun on The Key West Conch Train!
The Key West Conch Train
Evan has been having so much fun in the pool. He showed Daddy how he can somersault under water. He also learned to dive under water and touch the bottom of the pool or retrieve a toy. He is also having fun simply swimming under water. He is just like a fish!
We went back to Fort Zachary State Park for a picnic dinner and to see the sunset. We were fortunate see a sting ray while we were at the beach. (I wish I had gotten my camera in time!)
We had great views of the ocean from our picnic spot.
Evan LOVES the ocean!
Our view of the sunset from Fort Zachary State Park was beautiful.
Saturday
We went to The Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center. We had fun learning about The Florida Keys and the sea creatures that live here.
Evan and Daddy learned what it was like to be in a real submarine!
Daddy helped Evan to learn about coral reefs!
The aquariums at the Eco-Discovery were pretty cool. Evan and I learned a lot! (Daddy doesn't have much to learn. He knows A LOT about the ocean and the animals that live in the ocean!)
We saw a HUGE iguana at the pool!
Carl and I had fun at Louie's Backyard on date night. It was SO yummy!
Sunday
Today Carl and I went snorkeling while Evan played with Bonnie Mom. (I forgot my camera AGAIN!) We got to see a live conch, as well as LOTS of fish! Later, we got to visit The Southernmost Point of the USA together, as well as the end of US Route 1.
In the evening we went to a local playground. Evan really liked the playground because instead of mulch, it had sand! We also went on a walk on White Street Pier again, where we saw fish, crabs and lots of lobsters.
Evan had fun climbing on the spaceship. (Daddy did too!)
The view from White Street Pier was so pretty!
Monday
We went to the beach today and Evan and Daddy snorkeled again. Evan saw lots of fish and some sea cucumbers. Later, we buried Evan and Daddy in the sand! (We had harder time burying Daddy, but we did a pretty good job!)
Later in the evening, Carl and I went on a sunset sail. The weather was great and we had a lot of fun. Carl got the change to help put the sail up and I got a chance to sail the ship for awhile!
Tuesday
Today we went to Zachary Taylor State Park. Evan, Carl, and Bonnie Mom snorkeled around the large rocks on the beach. Evan liked it so much, that he kept snorkeling in the shallow water by the shore, once Carl and Bonnie Mom were finished! He is definitely an ocean boy! (I WISH I had my camera, but we left it in the car!)
Later, we went back to the park to take some family pictures. Evan was really interested in getting in the water to snorkel and was not interested in getting pictures made, but we did get a few good shots!
Wednesday
Carl and I went to Duval Street for dinner and to watch the sunset. On the way to Sunset Pier, we stopped at La Concha and got a great view of the city.
Thursday
We went to the beach and Evan spent much of his time snorkeling. Today I remembered the camera and Carl took some pictures while they snorkeled.
Later in the evening, Carl and I headed back to Duval Street one more time. We started at La Concha and saw a rainbow and beautiful sunset. Then we had dinner at The Cafe. (It was DELICIOUS!)
Friday
Today is Carl's last day in Key West, so we spent the day doing some of his favorite things, which included snorkeling with Evan, swimming in the pool, and walking on the White Street Pier. Later we all went out to dinner at Salute and then walked on the beach and the pier. The stars were BEAUTIFUL! It was a really nice night.
It was fun to make family footprints in the sand.
We saw this bird when we walked on the White Street Pier. (Evan loves birds, so he asked us to take a picture.)
Once again, we had a great view when we ate dinner at Salute! (Evan was SO good at dinner!)
Saturday
This morning Carl had to leave Key West. =( Bonnie Mom and I took Evan to the Key West Toy Factory this morning. Evan had so much fun. He liked exploring the store, seeing some magic tricks, getting a balloon animal, and purchasing two trains. When we made our purchase, we got two free tokens. Once token was for a carousel ride and the other one was for ice cream! What a fun morning!
Evan had fun dressing up and being silly at The Key West Toy Factory.
Riding the carousel after getting some toy trains at The Key West Toy Factory was fun!
Evan got a cool triceratops balloon animal while we were at They Key West Toy Factory.
Sunday
Today we played at the beach and the pool. In the evening, we took Evan to see Key West from the top of La Concha. He liked seeing all of the boats from the view finder. Afterwards, we ate at Salsa Loco. It was a really fun and relaxing day. (It was so relaxing that I didn't even worry about capturing any moments by taking pictures!)
Monday
Today was our last day in Key West. =( We spent our last day swimming, playing and walking on the White Street Pier. We also went out to dinner at The Southernmost Beach Cafe. It was a wonderful last day in Key West!
I took this picture on our last day in Key West, when Evan insisted that I do so. =) (I am actually glad I did!) Evan LOVED this cat and pet and kissed it EVERY day!
We saw a rainbow while walking on the pier. It was so pretty!
Evan had fun watching the storm on on the ocean.
Tuesday
Today was our travel day. Overall, Evan did well with traveling. We got to see a key deer on the way to the airport, which was really cool. It is nice to be home and to be together, but we all miss Key West already!
