Father's Day 2016

Father's Day weekend was busy, but that seems to be the case each year when Evan is doing swim and dive team. My sister and her family were in town and Granddaddy really wanted everyone to celebrate Father's Day together. After swim and dive practice, we went out to lunch with everyone at El Nopal. Eating out together with 5 children is not easy, but I must admit that lunch went really well. Afterwards, we all went to Grammy and Granddaddy's house to play. The kids had a ball!

Happy Father's Day, Granddaddy!

Evan and Jackson

So, after taking LOTS of pictures, I found that many are just too silly! Here they posed, but it is pretty close to reality! =)

Caleb was TRYING to get Preston to cooperate!

I think this is the "best" picture of Preston I got that day! SO funny!

We surprised Carl with cards and gifts on Father's Day morning. Unfortunately, we did not get to see him long, as we had to get to swim and dive warm ups. Preston and Evan joined us for the dive meet, where Evan excelled in diving and won second place! We were so proud of him and he was SO happy that Daddy and Preston came to watch!

Daddy had fun watching Evan dive. I think Evan was thrilled to have him there!

Granddaddy surprised us at the meet!

After the meet, we spent the night back at the pool. Carl spent the night playing with the boys, which was so sweet. I am so thankful that the boys have a dad that loves them so much and wants to spend so much time with them. He is a great dad and husband, as well as my best friend.

Red River Gorge Trip

We have been talking about taking a trip with John and Terri for quite some time. In the future, we would love to take a big trip and perhaps go out of the country. Since the kids are still pretty little though, we decided on a short trip to Red River Gorge.

We spent a lot of time hiking, which was lots of fun, but also quite difficult! We climbed mountains and we did not use any easy trails. It was quite an adventure! I loved seeing all of the cool arches and rock formations. It is a really beautiful place! Terri and I also enjoyed relaxing in the lake and we all had fun together each evening, as we sat by the fire, played games, etc.

We tried to hike up Indian Staircase, but John took us on an adventure! We did end up seeing Indian Staicase, but that was after we climbed the mountain and hiked to the other side of the ridge! I was so glad we went on this hike. It was beautiful!

Red River Gorge is so pretty!

Our final hike was to Natural Bridge. Once again, we did not got the easy way! I still had fun and I was glad to get to see it.

We had fun at Jump Rock. The men jumped from the rock to the river, but Terri and I preferred be spectators!

Family Fun Days

Carl was off for four full days on Memorial Day weekend, which was really nice. He had been working really long hours and were were happy to get to spend time with him! We were excited about the opening of the pool and we spent quite a bit of time there, as the boys had fun swimming and jumping of of the diving board. We also enjoyed playing in the sprinkler, going fishing, playing with bubbles, seeing family, playing with water balloons. The boys also got to have a sleep over at Grammy and Granddaddy's house while Carl and I went to Abbey Road on the River.

The weekend after Memorial Day was also full of family fun! We enjoyed time at the pool, but we also we to Lego Kidsfest and the Wings for Kids Air Show. We did not stay too long at the Wings for Kids Air Show, because it started to rain. We did enjoy seeing several planes fly and enjoyed the candy drop! Lego Kidsfest was amazing and completely exceeded our expectations. There was lots to do, including building, seeing cool Lego creations, playing games and more!

Lego Kidsfest was SO much fun! We will definitely go back if it comes back to town!

Both boys liked all of the cool Lego creations. Preston was too busy running from one to the other to pose for pictures!

Everyone enjoyed the Ninjago battle stations!

Building and racing vehicles was lots of fun!

Silly boy!

The grown ups had fun too!

Evan used Daddy's creation to finish his masterpiece at the creation station.

The Star Wars Lego creation sets were super cool. We all had fun making silly character with all of the different pieces.
