We had an early morning flight out of Cincinnati, so we went up the night before and had a little adventure! We spent some time walking the bridge and then playing in a really cool park. Then we went back to the hotel, where the kids got to swim in the pool and Carl and I enjoyed happy hour. We also ordered pizza and had a little picnic in the room. It was a really fun start to our vacation!
We spent one of our first days at Geiger Key. It was my favorite day of the trip! The boys had so much fun exploring! They found two conchs, lots of different types of crabs, snails. etc.
After exploring, we went kayaking. We saw lots of fish, crabs and two starfish!
We had a wonderful lunch at the marina, after we went kayaking. Evan had a great time seeing all of the fish and lobsters that were by the dock.
The boys love to swim. The ocean was a bit cold, but they really enjoyed the pool at Casa Marina and at Bonnie Mom and Grandpa's house. They swam every single day!
Evan had a great time catching lizards! He even helped teach Preston how to catch them and Preston caught one all by himself! Unfortunately, a lot of kids raced over to see, so we did not get a good picture. He still has fun telling everyone that he caught his very first lizard!
We went to the wildlife center to feed the turtles. The birds were more interested in the food and Preston got the birds to eat from his hands!
We enjoyed walking to the White Street Pier and watching the sunsets. The boys had fun looking for animals in the water and they saw fish, crabs, lobsters, and even a shark and a ray!
On the way to the pier, Evan stopped to look in the tide pool at Higgs beach. He found a sea slug!
Grandpa took Evan fishing and they caught lots of fish! We also saw three eagle rays!
We went to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park and the kids had a great time playing in the fort. Preston figured our that he could fit in the canons and both boys had a great time pretending to be blasted out of the canons and into the ocean!
The boys enjoyed seeing all of the different colored iguanas. There were SO many of them at the fort!
We went to see a new part of the park and found a nice beach.
At the main beach, we saw a large eagle ray hugging the shoreline!
Preston was really eager to snorkel, but was not able to get the hang of it yet. I bet he will soon!
While Evan and Daddy went snorkeling, Preston and I played on the beach!
My Beach Boy
Evan thought these flowers were so pretty and wanted to take a picture. One of my favorite parts of Key West is how many beautiful flowers there are!
These iguanas joined us at the pool as Casa Marina. The boys were very excited!
Carl and I enjoyed a night out and a sunset sail.
Evan loves Bonnie Mom's dogs. They love it when we visit, because they get SO much extra love and attention.
We spent Thanksgiving having a cook out at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. Evan, Daddy and Grandpa went kayaking. Daddy and Evan also went snorkeling too! It was a beautiful day!
We went down to the harbor on Thanksgiving night. The boys enjoyed seeing the tarpon and and seeing all of the Christmas lights.
Bonnie Mom took this picture of us on Thanksgiving. I love it!
We all went to dinner at Salute one evening. The food was great and the boys enjoyed playing on the beach after dinner.
