Thanksgiving 2017

We had a wonderful time this Thanksgiving. We stayed in Louisville and we were fortunate to get to spend lots of time with family and friends. We are especially grateful for our many blessings. We have lots to be grateful for this year!

Grammy was able to join us for Evan's special Thanksgiving lunch at school. We all had fun!

Carl and I were able to squeeze in a date night! We enjoyed dinner and a U of L basketball game.

We spent Wednesday afternoon at Churchill Downs. We didn't cash any tickets, but we had a great time!

Thanksgiving Day was lots of fun. We spent the day at Grammy and Granddaddy's house. It was nice to be with our family and the food was delicious! The boys had a great time playing with their cousins.

The Congletons came by for a visit and we celebrated Luke's 8th birthday!

I took a lot of pictures, but I also forgot to take pictures too. The boys had fun with their cousins many of the days they were here. They decorated Grammy and Granddaddy's Christmas tree, had breakfast and a play date, went to House of Boom and had lunch at McDonald's, where they also spent a great deal of time playing on the indoor playground. Carl and I also met up with Carol, Devin and Eric and we celebrated Carol's birthday! It really was a great Thanksgiving! We are looking forward to a fun Christmas season, including travelling to Key West to spend Christmas with Bonnie Mon and Grandpa!

Fall, Festivals, Family, Field Trips and Fun

Our fall has been filled with lots of time with family and many different activities. We have done SO much, that I have decided to place all of the fun in one post, to make things less overwhelming! I am grateful for all of time time we spent together and all of the fun we had.

Evan has enjoyed going to U of L football games with both me and Carl. Our football team is not so good this year, but Evan really has lots of fun cheering for our Cards!

I had a great time volunteering for Kentucky Kids Day at Chancey Elementary. I really enjoyed being around all of the kids, but my favorite part was getting to spend time with Evan.

Can you believe that this was in the fall?!? We had a super hot spell and decided that the only way to be outside and comfortable was to be in the pool. Since the neighborhood pool was closed, we got out the kiddie pool and the boys had a great time splashing around.

We went to the Louisville Zoo's Halloween Party at the start of fall break. We had a great time and did lots of the extra activities, such as the spooky spider exhibit and the headless horseman storytime.

During Fall Break, we went to House of Boom 3 times! I took the boys once and then Grammy and Granddaddy took them too! When Marlee visited, they wanted to go again with him! They love that place!

We were so excited to have Sarah, Marlee, Aunt Karol and Uncle Larry visit us! The boys had so much fun playing together!

We went to pick pumpkins at Gallrein Farm. We found some great pumpkins and enjoyed the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. We also played in the hay, rode the train, pet the animals and did the corn maze.

Carl and I enjoyed a day date during fall break. We went to the Saint James Art Fair and then out to lunch.

We planned to camp outside, but the weather got stormy. The boys had a great time having a camp out in the basement instead.

We went to the Foxhollow Farm Fall Festival. We have never been, but I hope to go back again! They had lots of different activities, including an obstacle course, pony rides, games, pumpkin picking and playing in the hay.

Evan loved his green pumpkin!

Preston had a field trip to the farm. It was a beautiful day and Preston had lots of fun picking two white pumpkins, as well as playing with his friends. We both enjoyed the fresh doughnuts that we bought at the farm.

We celebrated Grammy's birthday with dinner at Los Aztecas and cake and ice cream here at the house. We love you, Grammy!

We wen to visit the Congletons! It was an overdue visit and everyone was SO excited to see each other! Evan had a great time filling in on Levi and Luke's soccer team and did great! Preston, David and Adam had a ball playing together. We are so grateful for such wonderful friends!

We had lots of fun with our annual candy hunt!

I have really enjoyed hiking in the fall. I think it is becoming my favorite season of the year!

Grammy and I got to attend Preston's Halloween party. Preston was so happy!

We had the best pumpkin carving day, to date! Both boys needed help with the inside of the pumpkin, but they each did their own carving!

Preston did a traditional jack-o-lantern and Evan did a zombie pumpkin with dripping blood!

We did an early visit with Santa! The boys looked so handsome!

We have started a new tradition of visiting Hillcrest Ave. We had Bonnie Mom and the Amshoffs join us. We loved the spooky decorations, as well as having lunch and playing together afterwards.

I was able to attend Evan's field trip to Farnsley-Moorman Landing. We had fun and we both learned a lot! Evan got to make his own brick, explore an early settlement house and also do a real dig for artifacts! He found coal and glass!

Preston and I went Evan's fall party! It was lots of fun!

Halloween night was AWESOME! Grammy and Granddaddy came to help us celebrate. The boys went to SO many houses and even visited a few small carnivals!

We got ANOTHER trick! YUCK!

Thankfully, we also got lots of treats!

Evan and Daddy attended Donuts with Dad. Evan was SO happy!

It's been a super fun fall and we're looking forward to lots of fun Thanksgiving and Christmas activities!!!
