WOW!

Evan and Preston have had some fun accomplishments these past few weeks. We are so excited for them!

Preston started karate in September. He had his first belt test and he earned a white belt with a yellow stripe! He says he is now a "yellow striper." He has worked so hard and we are so happy for him!

We went to the first skating party of the school year and Preston decided that he no longer needed a skate trainer. He was right! He spent the night skating with no assistance!

Evan has been very interested in fishing for the past few months. Carl takes him to Putney Pond, as well as the pond on the golf course. He has gotten quite good at fishing and often catches really big bass!

Evan has also done well in swim. He is swimming for Kammerer and he competes against other kids in sixth through eighth grade. He has had some good individual times and is getting faster each week. He also had a relay to come in third place in the last meet! It was so fun to watch a quite and accomplishment for their team!

Fall Fun 2019

We started our fall activities with a trip to Gallrein Farm. We went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch, where we found the perfect pumpkins, as well as a large gourd for Preston. The boys also enjoyed playing in the hay and jumping on the huge inflatable "pillow." We also mastered the corm maze and had fun in the haunted house.

We went to the Halloween party at the zoo, which was lots of fun. This was the first time Preston was able to wear his Mario/Yoshi inflatable costume and he was SO excited!

We have enjoyed lots of time outside. Despite the drought, the fall colors have been beautiful!

We had a great time carving our pumpkins. Preston also discovered that he likes eating roasted pumpkin seeds!

Chancey Elementary had a story book character dress up day on Halloween. Preston was an adorable pirate!

Halloween night was lots of fun, despite the freezing temperatures! Grammy and Granddaddy came over for dinner. Granddaddy went trick or treating with us, while Grammy stayed at the house to pass out candy. The boys saw lots of their friends and got lots of candy.

We also walked down Hillcrest Avenue on night with Bonnie Mom. I didn't take any pictures, but we had a really good time. It was the first time we took the boys to "Halloween Street" in the dark. I loved it even more than usual, as did Carl, Evan and Bonnie Mom. Preston thought it was a bit too spooky, but was very brave.

Fall Break - October 2019

We recently had fall break and it was a great time to be together with family and friends. Bonnie Mom was in town, so we were able to spend some time with her, which was nice. She took the boys to Target, which they loved. We also spent time with Grammy and Granddaddy. As usual, the boys spent quite a bit of time playing with their neighborhood friends. We also had some family time with just the four of us. It was nice to have time off from school and work and we had lots of fun.

We started off our fall break on Thursday night, by eating dinner at Bistro 42 with Bonnie Mom. The weather was FINALLY starting to get nice and we were able to enjoy eating outside.

We went to Malibu Jack's with Grammy and Granddaddy on Friday. We played mini golf, which was quite amusing, but also really fun. We also had lunch together at Red Robin. At night, Bonnie Mom came to spend time with the boys and Carl and I went to dinner at Captain's Quarters.

Carl and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Captain's Quarters. The weather was beautiful!

Granddaddy was the winner at mini golf!

Evan LOVES to win tickets! He was so excited!

On Saturday, Evan and Daddy went fishing. They caught their biggest fish yet! In the afternoon, Carl and I went to the art fair and Evan went to the U of L game with Granddaddy. Preston played with his babysitters, since none of that interested him. At night, we made s'mores.

Granddaddy and Evan were happy for a win for our Cards!

We went to Great Wolf Lodge on Sunday. We had so much fun together. We enjoyed the water park, as well as played Magic Quest. Preston liked playing Magic Quest and even defeated the dragon! Each of the boys were on the leader boards on the T.V. They were thrilled!

The boys and I went on a quick trip to the zoo on Tuesday. We loved seeing the new baby elephant. The boys spent lots of time playing with their friends in the afternoon. Bonnie Mom came over to visit that evening.

Summer Wind Down

School started several week ago, but we have continued to have lots of warm weather and lots of fun. Summer is now officially over and we are looking forward to cooler temperatures and fall fun.

Preston always likes to go to work with Daddy. The day before school started, Carl took him to work for awhile. He loved seeing Daddy's office, getting breakfast and meeting some of Daddy's co-workers.

Evan is REALLY into fishing. He asks to go almost every day. We can't go that often, but we still go quite a bit. Sometimes Preston joins along, but he tends to only be happy if he is able to quickly catch fish.

The boys had a sleepover with Grammy and Granddaddy. They played, went to House of Boom, ate at Red Robin and went to the park to catch crayfish. Everyone was tired, but everyone had lots of fun!

While I was away for a girls' weekend, Carl took the boys to Mammoth Cave, Diamond Caverns and Dinosaur World. The had a lot of fun on their special adventure!

Carl and I have enjoyed some U of L football games. They are much better than we expected and it has been fun to cheers for our Cards.

We have enjoyed several outings to Kentucky Kingdom. The water park has been our favorite area, as it has been SO hot!

We had a great visit with the Congleton family in Owensboro. It was still hot there as well, so we all went swimming. The boys had a great time with their friends. They all stayed up late, got up early and had lots of fun.

We went to Rec Bar and then to The Melting Pot, which has become a really fun activity for us as a family. The boys loved the games and the chocolate fondue was a hit!
