The Great Steamboat Race usually occurs during The Kentucky Derby Festival, which is in late April and early May. Due to flooding during the festival, the race was postponed. The race was held last Wednesday, on June 29th. Evan and I went downtown and met Carl after work and we made it to the river right in time to see the boats take off! During the race, we wandered over to the Waterfront Wednesday concert, where we ate and listened to music. After seeing The Belle of Louisville win the race, we went to the large playground to let Evan play. It was a really fun evening and we were happy that we got to FINALLY see the boat race!
