Easter 2010

Evan had a great time celebrating Easter this year. We began our celebration by making a bunny hut at Grandpa and Bonnie Mom's house. The bunny hut was similar to a gingerbread house. The hut was made out of a cookie and we decorated the hut with icing and various candies. We all had a great time helping Evan decorate the bunny hut. Evan enjoyed decorating the bunny hut and eating the icing and candy.

Evan was SO excited to start decorating the bunny hut!

Yummy! This candy is SO good!

Making a bunny hut is fun!

This icing is delicious!

Our bunny hut is finally complete!

Evan dyed Easter eggs for the first time this year. His good buddy Levi came over to help! Evan and Levi enjoyed seeing the eggs come out of the food coloring. Evan had fun mixing the colors to create new colors and placing the eggs in several different colors to create very interesting eggs. He is very artistic, like Daddy.

Evan shows off his first Easter egg!

Levi liked his green Easter egg!

Our Easter eggs were beautiful!

Easter Sunday was a lot of fun. We went to church, had an Easter egg hunt, enjoyed getting several Easter baskets, and visited family. Evan LOVED the Easter egg hunt. He was so excited to run around and find all of the eggs. He also enjoyed getting all of the treats in his Easter baskets.

Evan got his first Easter basket at our house.

Evan enjoyed his gifts. He also enjoyed playing with the plastic grass!

This chocolate bunny is delicious!

Finding Easter egss is so much fun!

Mess Making

The other night I came downstairs and heard loud laughter coming from the kitchen. I came around the corner to find Evan having a great time taking the eggs out of the refrigerator and smashing them on the floor! He had no idea that what he had done was wrong. When he saw me, he happily exclaimed, "Look Mommy! Eggs!" He had the biggest smile on his face! Of course, I explained that eggs are food and not toys, but before I cleaned up the mess, I did take a picture.

Dinosaurs at the Zoo

The Louisville Zoo has a new dinosaur exhibit. Since Evan LOVES dinosaurs, we decided to take him to the zoo to see the dinosaurs. Evan was very excited to see the large dinosaurs. He enjoyed hearing the dinosaurs roar and seeing them move. Although he had a great time and enjoyed the dinosaurs, he was a bit scared. He wanted to be held the whole time, except when he got to dig for fossils with Daddy. Evan was excited to choose a dinosaur to take home at the gift shop. He loves his new dinosaur and even sleeps with it!

Weekend Away With the Girls

Earlier this month I travelled to Nashville to spend some time with my sorority sisters. They are some of my dearest friends and it was great to relax and spend time together. We enjoyed time at the spa and a fun night out on the town! I miss these girls so much and I wish we all lived closer so that we could get together more often!

Rachael's 31st Birthday

I am pleased to say that I recently celebrated my 31st birthday. (I am VERY grateful to be alive and healthy!) My family (Mom, Dad, Heather, Josh, Jackson, Caleb, and Emily) came over for Chinese food and cheesecake the day before my birthday. Although things were wild with so many kids running around, I had a good time!

On my actual birthday I had to work late due to conferences, but Carl and Evan helped me celebrate when I got home. They bought flowers, wrapped presents, and made dinner. Evan picked out his own card and gift for me. (I got a toy truck!) It was a really good birthday celebration!

Later that week we celebrated my birthday, Grandma's birthday and Carl's dad's birthday with Carl's family. We went to Carl's parents' house for dinner. While we were there, we called Grandma. Evan was cute and said/sang "Happy To Yous!" to Grandma.

As usual, Jackson enjoyed helping me blow out the candles on my birthday cake. Evan enjoyed helping too!

Evan LOVED the cheesecake!

Evan helped me open my gifts.

Carl, Evan, and I had fun celebrating my birthday!

U of L Honors Breast Cancer Survivors

The University of Louisville recently honored breast cancer survivors at a Lady Cardinals home game. Breast cancer survivors and their families were invited to enjoy the game. The Lady Cards wore pink headbands, the cheerleaders wore pink uniforms, and the cardinal bird even wore a pink t-shirt. At half-time, all breast cancer survivors made a large breast cancer awareness ribbon on the court.

Carl, Evan, Mom, Dad, and I went to the game and we had a great time. Evan was not interested in the game for long, so Dad played with him while he explored the arena.

Evan enjoyed a nice cold water before the game.

Carl and I had fun at the game.

GO CARDS!

Evan was excited to see me at half-time.

This is the breast cancer awareness ribbon made by the survivors and a few cheerleaders.

This is a picture of me making the breast cancer awareness ribbon. I am the one waving at Evan.
