Holiday World

Carl and I decided to take Evan to Holiday World today. We all had a great time, but I think Evan had the best time by far. He was very excited about all of the rides. Evan would laugh snd smile during the ride and as soon as we exited each ride, he would exclaim, "AGAIN!" We also visited the water park called, Splashin' Safari. Evan really liked the wave pool and often referred to is as, "the big ocean." When we were leaving the park, Evan got to go see Santa Claus! Evan remembered who Santa is and said, "Merry Christmas!"

This is one of the first rides we saw. We just HAD to ride it!

Evan really enjoyed the train ride and had a smile on his face for the whole ride!

Evan enjoyed riding in the Safari Jeeps and his favorite part was beeping the horn.

Whee! The doggy roller coaster was lots of fun!

Evan really liked the fish ride. He kept his hands up, just like on the roller coaster!

The caone ride was lots of fun.

Evan liked helping Daddy drive the car around the track.

We stayed at the park until almost 4:00. Evan was SO well behaved during our trip, but he fell asleep within minutes of leaving the parking lot!

Here I Come!

Although he was scared at first, Evan has discovered that jumping in the "big pool" is one of his favorite things to do. He is even trying to learn to swim! We have to be VERY careful that someone is always near Evan. He is FEARLESS and will jump in and try to swim even if no one is around!

Visiting Thomas

We took Evan to see Thomas when he made his annual trip to the Kentucky Railway Museum. Evan had such a great time! He enjoyed seeing Thomas and the other trains, but his favorite part was getting to ride a real train. He enjoyed looking out the window as the train moved. He kept telling us all of things he saw, including horses, tractors, and barns. Evan also enjoyed some of the other activities, such as playing with the trains, blowing bubbles, and trying to play miniature golf.

Evan got to sit on a Thomas statue when we arrived at the train station.

Evan got to see a really big train. The train was over 100 years old and still works!

Evan liked seeing Daddy make really big bubbles.

Daddy helped Evan make some big bubbles too.

We were all excited to see Thomas arrive at the station.

We got to take our picture with Thomas!

Evan was SO excited to ride the train!

Evan waited patiently for the conductor, so that he could give him our tickets.

The train ride was a lot of fun!

Even as we pulled into the station, Evan was still enjoying the view from his seat on the train!

Evan liked playing with the toy trains.

Evan tried to play miniature golf. He had fun, but it was really tricky for him.

Father's Day with Granddaddy

My parents will be in Belize doing mission work on Father's Day, so we decided to celebrate Father's Day early. Everyone came over to our house for dinner and to let the kids play in the pool and on the play house. We all enjoyed spending time together and celebrating my dad. He is a great dad and a wonderful grandfather!

Caleb and Evan had a ball while Granddaddy pushed them on the swings.

As always, the boys had fun in the pool!

Grammy and Emily pose for a picture before dinner.

Emily took a dip in the pool.

Emily liked the swing so much that she fell asleep!

Heather made a beautiful cake!

Evan thought the cake was delicious!

I love my family!

Grammy, Granddaddy, and Evan had fun catching fireflies.

Splash Park at The Louisville Zoo

Evan and I took a trip to the zoo on Monday. We had a great time looking at the animals, but the best part of the trip was going to the splash park. It was our first trip to the splash park this summer. Evan did not remember the splash park and was a bit timid at first. He soon discovered that the splash park was lots of fun and enjoyed playing in the water. I think we will visit the splash park many more times this summer.

Evan was NOT sure that the splash park looked fun.

Once he was brave enough to get up on the boat, he was STILL not sure if he liked the splash park.

Once he decided that the splash park was fun, Evan had a great time!

Evan's New Pool

Evan has grown a lot since last summer and his old pool was just too small for him. Last weekend we purchased a new pool for Evan, which is wider and deeper than his old pool. Evan loves playing in his new pool. He even enjoyed getting in to play when we first filled the pool with water, even though the water was VERY cold!

Evan helped fill his new pool with water.

Getting in for the first time was fun, even though the water was super cold!

Daddy had fun spinning Evan in the pool. (Daddy was VERY brave to get in the cold water!)

Evan loves sharks! This is his favorite shark at the moment. I think it's because the shark can swim in the pool with him!

Having fun on the pool!

Blowing bubbles!

I like the pool!

This pool noodle is lots of fun!

Memorial Day Fun

We started off the weekend by attending Abbey Road on the River. We took Evan to the concerts for a couple of hours in the afternoon. He enjoyed the music, but he had just as much fun seeing the boats, trains, trucks and planes! Once it was nap time, we took Evan home. He spent the evening with Bonnie Mom and Grandpa while Carl and I headed back for more music and some grown up time. (I have pictures of Carl and I at Abbey Road on the River posted below. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera that afternoon and I have no pictures of Evan! Oops!)

Carl and I had a great time at Beatles tribute concerts.

Here are some of the bands that we saw. We didn't get to see any bands in costumes this year, but the music was great!

On Sunday, we had a cookout with my family at my parents' house. Evan, Jackson, and Caleb had a great time playing in the little pool. After dinner, most of us headed to the park to play. All three of the boys had a lot of fun playing on the playground and on the baseball diamond. (I have NO idea what game they boys played, but I do know it involved kicking a basketball on a baseball diamond and lots of running!)

Evan loved the slide on Granddaddy and Grammy's pool!

Granddaddy and Evan had fun playing together!

Jackson, Caleb, and Evan are good buddies. They had fun splashing in the pool.

After playing in the pool, Evan watered the flowers!

On Monday night, we had a cookout with Carl's family at our house. We were excited that everyone was able to come. We didn't do anything special, but it was really nice to have everyone get together.
