On Sunday morning we went to breakfast together. We then headed to the water park again. It was pretty cold though, so we did not stay long. We spent the rest of the morning playing games and then we checked out of the hotel and went out for lunch.
We drove around French Lick for awhile while Evan napped. Once he was awake, we decided to go to The West Baden Hotel to look around. We saw lots of deer on the way into the hotel. Evan loved "the reindeer" and we were able to let him get a close look since the deer seemed used to people. The hotel was quite impressive! (Evan even called it a castle!) We loved the big Chrstimas tree and all of the decorations.
Later in the afternoon we met up with the Congletons and got ready to ride The Polar Express. Both Levi and Evan were VERY excited to get to ride the train! The Polar Express was quite magical! The conductor, elves, and servers did a great job of entertaining us. Of course, the best part of the trip was getting to see Santa!
The ride home in our car was a bit treacherous. There was a lot of snow and ice on the road. We made it home safely around 10:00. I was really happy to find out I did not have to go to work the next day because of the snow!
Evan and I had fun on our snow day. We played outside in the snow, watched movies, and napped. That night, when the roads were better, we all went to Bonnie Mom and Grandpa's house to make a gingerbread house.
The whole weekend was a lot of fun. It was great to spend time with our good friends and our family!
Evan really liked the lazy river. He held the handles on the tube and rode around the river.

SPLASH!

Evan led Levi to wait to get splashed and held his hand. (Levi was not sure about getting splashed.)

Evan and Levi had fun getting splashed! (Evan liked the big splash MUCH more than Levi!)

Levi, John, and Evan went down the big yellow slide. (Evan and Levi soon figured out how to go down the slide without an adult. WOW!)

Evan LOVED the little pirate ship slide.

"Yea!"

Levi enjoyed the small water fountains in the pool.

Evan and Levi being silly!

Evan and Levi had fun running up and down the hotel halls.

Luke wanted to join the fun!

Evan loved seeing the "reindeer" outside of The West Baden Hotel. Carl and I thought it was pretty cool too!

The West Baden Hotel (Evan thought is was a castle and corrected us when we called it a hotel!)

The HUGE Chirstmas tree inside The West Baden Hotel.

Evan had fun playing games on the beautiful tile floor. He wanted Carl to join in the fun too!

Evan enjoyed making tracks in the snow when we left the hotel to meet up with the Congletons.

Our whole famiy had fun dressing up in our pajamas to ride The Polar Express.

Evan and Levi are best buddies!

Evan was SO happy to see The Polar Express!

"I am SO excited to get to ride on a real train and go see Santa!"

We tried to get Evan to pose for a family picture on the train, but he was really excited and NOT in the mood to pose!

Evan and Levi had fun before the train even started!

The train conductor came to punch our tickets.

Evan inspected his ticket after the conductor made his special punches.

Evan and Daddy looked out the window while we rode. Evan was sure he saw wolves, just like in the book.

Time for hot chocolate!

Yummy!

"Look!"

Evan enjoyed seeing Santa and he happily posed for a picture!

"The snow is yummy!"

Evan liked mowing the snow!

Evan also had fun making tracks in the snow with his big red truck!

Evan and Reece had fun playing together in the snow!

Bonnie Mom and Evan worked very hard to make a beautiful gingerbread house.

Evan liked decorating the gingerbread house.

Evan also liked eating the candy and the icing!

Evan was so proud of the completed product!
