The Train Show 2011

The Train Show was in Louisville again last weekend. Since Evan had so much fun at the show last year, we decided to go back again this year. We met up with The Nickels while we were there. Evan had fun looking at all of the trains with Jackson and Caleb. He also enjoyed riding on a small toy train!

Evan sat on Daddy's shoulders to get a good look at the trains.

Evan, Jackson, Caleb and Josh got a good look at the trains that ran on the floor.

Evan and Caleb decided to relax a bit and watch the trains.

Evan wanted a VERY close look at the trains!

Evan had fun riding the toy train with Caleb. He had a smile on his face the whole time he was riding!

The train table was a hit, even though Evan has his own here at home!

Pink Night at U of L

Last Tuesday the U of L Lady Cardinals hosted Pink Night. There was a lot of information about breast cancer detection and treatment. Breast cancer survivors were honored during half time and were able to walk across the court at the new KFC YUM! Center. It was a really fun night, even though we didn't get to stay for the whole game. (Evan has a short attention span!)

GO CARDS!

"Yea!"

Evan enjoyed a cookie at the game. (I think it was one of his favorite parts of the game!)

Evan proudly wore his pink shirt to the game.

While I got ready for half time, Evan had fun riding up and down the big escalators.

Evan and Daddy had fun playing the virtual fishing game on the way home.

We didn't get any pictures of me at the game, but I was filmed and shown (briefly) on the news that night. I hope to capture a picture from the video to post on the blog.

Happy 3rd Birthday Evan!

Evan turned three on January 25th. We celebrated at home that night by opening presents and making chocolate chip cookies. Evan received a bouncy house for his birthday, so we also spent a lot of time bouncing! Evan was VERY grateful for all of his gifts. He thanked us A LOT! It was so cute!

Evan enjoyed opening his birthday presents.

Rex was one of Evans's favorite gifts.

Evan was SO excited to see his big surprise! It was a bouncy house!

Evan's alligator HAD to bounce and slide with him!

Evan used Daddy's iPad to show everyone his new bouncy house! It was SO funny!

Evan was very patient as he waited for us to finish to singing.

Happy 3rd Birthday Evan! We love you!

On Saturday we hosted a birthday party for Evan at our house. Evan chose a dinosaur theme for his party. We had a lots of dinosaur decorations and a dinosaur cake! Evan was SO happy! We were excited to have all of our family join us for Evan's birthday party, although we were sad that the Congeltons were unable to come.

Evan enjoyed all of the dinosaur party decorations.

Evan was really happy the first time he saw his dinosaur cake!

Sneaking a taste of the cake before the party!

The balloons were a great decoration and a fun toy!

Birthday Boy

Evan was really into his birthday cards this year. It was sute to see him "read" his cards.

"Yea! A scooper truck!"

Emily and Aunt Heather enjoyed the party.

Jackson and Evan enjoyed playing with trains. (What a surprise!)

Sneaking another taste of birthday cake!

"Happy Birthday Evan!"

"YUMMY!"

"Can I have MORE cake?"

The bouncy house was lots of fun for everyone!

Another Snow Day!

We had our 4th snow day today, which meant that I got to stay home and play with Evan. I spent the morning finishing up my report cards, doing laundry, scheduling appointments, etc. Once Evan was up and had eaten breakfast, we headed out to play in the snow!

Evan always likes to take his spring/summer toys out to play in the snow, which cracks me up. Today he even brought out his tricycle, though he didn't get very far!

Evan also took his donosaurs out to play. (He INSISTED that I take a picture!)

"Eating snow is yummy, not yucky!"

Even though Evan was thirsty, he did not want to go in for a drink. He took his milk break in the snow!

After lots of fun in the snow, Evan was very tired!

New Year's Eve 2010

We celebrated the new year with Carl's family (Bonnie Mom, Grandpa, Uncle Teddy and Aunt Rachel) and Uncle Ron. Everyone came to our house for food and fun. We planned to let Evan stay up a bit late and enjoy the party, but he surprised us by staying up to ring in the new year! It was a really fun evening and it was great to ring in the new year with great people!
