Thursday
"Look Mom! That's our Key West plane!"
Evan did so well on the plane. He enjoyed watching movies and eating cookies while we traveled.
Friday
We went to the beach for the first time on our first morning here. Evan had so much fun playing in the ocean and playing in the sand. (Carl and I are having fun doing some of the same activities!)
We took Evan to Mallory Square to see the street performers. He was MUCH more interested in chasing the pigeons and finding chickens! Of course, we did finally convince him to watch one performer. We watched "Dr. Juice" perform some crazy stunts, including doing over 20 push ups while doing a hand stand and jumping through a tiny hula hoop! After the show, Evan went up to "Dr. Juice" and said, "You did a great job!" It was so cute!
Saturday
Evan enjoyed seeing the fish that swim around the pier at the beach. We decided to let him try to learn to snorkel, so that he could see the fish better. We were impressed by how quickly he learned to snorkel! After just about 15 minutes of practicing in the pool, he was ready to try his skills in the ocean!
Evan practiced snorkeling in Grandpa and Bonnie Mom's pool.
Evan was SO excited about snorkeling at the beach, that he insisted on wearing his gear as he walked to the beach!
Evan and Daddy had fun snorkeling and got to see a few fish!
After snorkeling, Evan made a few friends! (He cracks us up! He is SO friendly and he can convince ANYONE to play with him!)
Sunday
We took Evan to the pier to see the boats on our way to the aquarium. He liked seeing the boats, but he REALLY liked seeing the fish and feeding the pigeons. (Who knew that pigeons liked to eat fish food?)
Evan REALLY likes the pigeons here in Key West. He was thrilled that he got some of the pigeons to eat out of his hand!
The Key West Aquarium is small, but pretty cool. Evan's favorite part was touch tank, where he could play with the starfish, crabs, and other sea creatures.
Evan was SO excited to be able to touch a shark! What a brave boy!
Monday
Bonnie Mom and Grandpa played with Evan so that we could go on a date! Carl and I walked down Duval Street ate at at Salsa Loco. Later, we made our way down to Sunset Pier, where we enjoyed seeing a beautiful sunset.
Tuesday
While Carl worked, Evan and I went on a walk. We made our way to Southern Most Point. I thought it was pretty cool, but Evan was not too impressed. He did pose for a picture though!
After our walk, we got lunch at a vegetarian deli and came back home to eat and play in the pool. Evan is doing well with swimming and we are VERY proud of him!

Evan still LOVES the lizards! He looks for them EVERY time we go outside!
Wednesday
We went to the Dolphin Research Center in Marathon, which is about an hour away from Key West. We learned a lot about dolphins and Evan and I even got the chance to pet a dolphin! The dolphin also painted a t-shirt for Evan, which was REALLY cool!
Aleta was the dolphin that we got to pet and that painted Evan's t-shirt.

In the evening we went on a walk on White Street Pier. We were amazed at all of the sea creatures we saw! We saw an eel, a lobster, crabs and LOTS of fish! (Unfortunately, I did not have my regular camera with me. I did have my cell phone camera with me though and I was able to get a few pictures. Unfortunately, they are not of very good quality.)
There is an eel under the rock. You can see his head if you look closely! (I wish I had the camera ready when he swam out from underneath the rock!)

We could not see the sunset from the side of the island that we were on, but we did get a pretty cool view of the rising moon.
