Memorial Day Weekend 2017

Our Memorial Day weekend was very busy, but lots of fun! We started off by taking the boys to Abbey Road on the River on Friday afternoon. It was pretty slow at this point and not too many bands were playing, so they were really just interested in eating Kona Ice and pretzels, as well as playing on the playground. We took the boys back home to play with Bonnie Mom and Carl and I headed back out. We had a fantastic dinner outside and got to see several bands, including my favorite band, Brit Beat.

On Saturday, Carl and I attended Laurin and Brittany's wedding. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a really fun celebration!

The weather was not great on Sunday, but it was BEAUTIFUL on Monday, so we headed to the pool. There was a huge party and the boys had a great time playing in the pool and going down the big slide. They also had fun playing with Caroline and Alex!

We did not let the fun end after Memorial Day! The boys were out of school and we spent our days having lots of fun together!

The boys enjoy the hot tub with cooler water when the pool is closed.

I can't believe they both fit in the cart, but they did! It was the easiest shopping trip EVER!

The boys enjoy going to parks. We went to Hounz Lane park to play on the playground and to catch crayfish and minnows.

We had fun kayaking. We even discovered a new waterfall! I can't wait to go back when we have proper shoes, a water camera, etc.

Evan's Last Day of 3rd Grade

Evan had a really great year in third grade. His main teacher was Mrs. Spivak and she was AMAZING! Evan adored her and we did too. She is an excellent teacher and really made learning interesting and fun. Mrs. Harrigan was his math teacher and he did very well in her class as well. Evan is even doing a trial placement in advanced program next year! We are so proud of Evan's success! We are now looking forward to a super fun summer, filled with fun and relaxation!

Pictures From The Last Day of Third Grade:

Mrs. Spivak had the cutest end of the year gift!

Evan made an awesome memory book, which included a cute letter from Mrs. Spivak. He loved it and so did I!

When I volunteer with the PTA, it is almost always signing checks, going to the bank, attending meetings, making copies, etc. However at the end of the year, I was able to volunteer to help with the KPREP celebrations, as well as field day. I enjoyed helping the kids and getting hugs from many of my former students. Of course, the best part of each day of volunteering was getting to see Evan have fun with his friends!

Preston's Last Day of 4 Year Old Preschool

On Monday, Preston had his closing program for the 4 year old preschool year. The program was adorable and Preston did a great job of singing and doing all of the motions. Preston and his friends also played "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with hand bells! We will miss Mrs. Breunig and Mrs. Cattano, as they have been excellent teachers for Preston. He had such a great year and he looked forward to school, except for the "hard work." We are looking forward to a fun summer and then Preston will get one final year at M.U.M.P. He will join the 5 year old preschool class this fall!

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a great Mother's Day weekend. On Friday, I got to enjoy Mother's Day brunch with my sister and my mom. It was a nice treat that Heather was stopping by for a quick visit, as her family headed to a retreat. My mom had just had surgery, but she was well enough for brunch, which was also really nice.

On Saturday, we had a family day and spent our day walking the Big Four Bridge, eating lunch at Parlour and playing at the playground. We also got ice cream treats on the walk back. As a bonus, we also saw Aunt Rachel, Uncle Teddy, Caroline and Alex!

On Sunday, we had a brunch at our house, along with simulcast racing! The weather was beautiful, the company was great, the kids played well and we even won some money on a horse named Bonnie Arch. We picked this name because of Bonnie Mom! We took the boys fishing in the evening and that was lots of fun too. We did not catch too many, but we had a great time!
